Panasonic's EY7840X 14.4-Volt SDS Plus Rotary Hammer is a versatile tool built powerful and tough in a compact lightweight frame, focused on delivering continuous drilling into concrete, brick and block. The EY7840X has two modes, hammer mode and drill mode. Hammer mode: 0 -1,000 rpm and a maximum of 4,000bpm with a hitting force of 21.6 Kn. Drill mode: 0-1,000 rpm. The EY7840X features a 5 stage clutch; 5/8-inch chuck, SDS-plus bit system, LED work light, quick charging system, dust proof switch and attachable shoulder strap. The EY7840X features a new air-coupling hammer mechanism for quick hole drilling into concrete. The air system hammer uses compressed air to drive the piston and deliver power effectively. The EY7840X is compact in size 9¿ long and weighs only 5.1 lbs. The ergonomic design delivers a comfortable contoured rubber grip which allows for less fatigue over extended use. The convenient location of the variable speed control trigger and forward/reverse switch permits one hand operation. The lightweight design makes this tool ideal for overhead work. This high-quality, versatile tool is ideal for installation, mechanical, electrical, and maintenance work. The EY7840X is powered by a 3.0ah Cobalt Li-ion battery pack which delivers high output with low heat generation resulting in twice the lifetime total performance versus current Ni-Cd battery packs. In addition the EY7840X utilizes Panasonic¿s unique GuardION system. The GuardION system monitors each battery cell during battery charging and during tool use to prevent over discharging and overheating of the battery pack thus insuring long life. A self diagnostic universal battery charger electronically monitors the condition of each battery cell in the battery pack. The 14.4-volt 3.0ah Li-ion battery pack fully charges in 50 minutes. The EY7840X is sold as a tool body only.
